he's never been good at waiting for anything.
(he cried everyday for a week until his mom let him open a christmas gift he KNEW was Madden '95.)
waiting for his son to arrive has been slightly harder on him than that.
so, he decided he would take on one last project...
re-flooring 1,000 square feet of our house.
i begged him not to, "can't we just relax until the baby comes?" he insisted it would only take a few days, and it would help him stop hovering over me asking "are you in labor now? what about now?" DEAL!
cut to my 36 week check-up...
dilated to a 4, 80% effaced.
for those who don't speak down-there-doctor talk, those numbers are really high. i could go into labor as i write this, or it could be weeks. either way, russ has been working on that derned floor day & night.
and for my next trick, i will attempt to remain calm.

At least it will look great when it's all done?
I suppose it would be much harder to redo the flooring for some time *after* the little squirt pops out!
WHAT! your at a 4 and 80%... you should be proud of that body of yours! ha ha!
seriously!
at 41 weeks i was at a 0 and 0%!!... yup! depressing!
well, i'm in 36 weeks pregnant and in labor, BUT we just redid all the flooring in our home and IT. SUCKED. so i feel for you in that regard! i hope he gets it done fastfast! and i hope the little one comes quickly and healthy :) can't wait to see pictures!
you are probably at the hospital as i write this. i've never been a 4 without being laid up in my hospital bed with an epidural in my back.
so, here's to you!
i'm so excited for you and i'm so excited to see this baby! and i don't even (in real life) know you!
How exciting!!!
That's awesome. At 36 weeks I was dilated to a 3. They told me the same thing, it could be any day or I could be even late. Well at my 38 week appointment they said I was looking great, whatever that means that they could induce me at 39 weeks. I was all for it. It was awesome. So if you get the option I highly recommend it. Inducing just starts the labor it won't change how fast it would be or how slow, but I luckily had a way fast labor and delivery and I'm convinced it's because I dilated so early, so hopefully that will happen for you too!
you are a very very very good wife. that is all
March 10th, that's my guess... Only the coolest are born on that day. And I love that he is so stir crazy, that's very cute. I would love to see his face when the baby arrives. Probably like Madden for Christmas, TIMES 1000 : )
aahhahahahahahaha! Seriously that is ALWAYS the way it goes...you plan and plan and then WAMBAM...here's to the sprout's arrival seriously can't wait to see those too cute pictures I'm sure you'll have. I never got to the point where they actually checked me at the Dr's office...but I hear those numbers could mean a lot or nothing...babies just come when they want so I hope russ finishes the floor!
Good luck with everything...good luck. :)
As a lover of nice tile and dark hardwood floors, this picture aches me.
On the other hand, make sure you send out a text no matter what time of day/night when you start heading to the hospital.
Yikes! Deep breaths!
I agree with Hayley. P.S. I love the way you write. Makes me giggle right out loud-at work!
Well I sure hope he gets it done before the baby comes, cuz then who knows when it will get finished! haha
I bet it will feel so great to have it done. Nice to not have carpet for a baby then you don't have to worry about shampooing it all the time or asking people to take off their shoes.
I'm 38 weeks pregnant with our 3rd and only 1cm and 50%....so I'm jealous. :) But I totally understand your distress. Deep breaths - both now and in labor! :)
That is the best and cutest thing I have heard. I love it! And I am SO excited for you!!! Can't wait for the big update.
