are you there spring? it's me, emily.

i could not get enough of the weather this weekend! it definitely motivated me to finish up all the indoor projects i had started so i have no reason to stay inside once spring is officially here.

i started collecting plates so that one day i might have a wall that looks like this:

but this will have to do for now:
{sort of sad, i need at least 20 more!}

and i finally finished this:
russ looks a little sleepy no?

the final draft:

finished product:

it is way harder than it looks, i think i need to re-do russ' so he doesn't look like
mikey from recess.

p.s. we GRILLED last night!
we had a little Oscar Party and grilled up some rosemary chicken, lemon and artichoke heart kebobs. yum.

i was so happy to see slumdog millionaire dominate last night.
these ladies also dominated:
marion cotillard in dior
marisa tomei in versace

Yes I do work there. It is seriously such a blessing that they have arrived in Utah. Hopefully the style there can have an influence.

kate:

you can buy plate hangers for most size plates at any target, wal-mart type store. they are in the aisles with other hooks and lightbulbs for some reason.

good luck!

Just stopping by from your sister-in-laws and wanted to tell you how cute you are!!

Do you scrapbook at all? You'd be really good at it I think.

lizzy,

i am sorry to disappoint, but i haven't scrap booked since i was 11. its not really my thing, and now that liz (my sis) has taken it to epic proportions, i am definitely not doing it!

but you're sweet, thanks for saying hi!

I've been thinking about attempting the plate art for a while now- I saw some killer plates at anthropologie... now I'm inspired again.

And I LOVE the silhouettes- where'd you find those awesome frames?

Emily Frame said...

ikea!

(and good call on anthropologie)

em i freaking love the shadow portraits! i totaly want to do it! so did you just trace your shadow and then what? also where did you get the frames????

Emily Frame said...

ikea! they're great. i did the shadow and heard by many people that there is a much easier way to do it using photoshop... so i guess it's up to you. i liked doing it by hand, then you control some things-- like the size of your nose and double chin.
