I had the opportunity to fill in for Emily at the West Elm City Creek pre-opening tour. I jumped at the chance to go because a. I love West Elm and b. I hadn't made it to City Creek yet. First I must say, City Creek is beautiful and just what Salt Lake City needed. Secondly, the new West Elm is a must see! I've been a long time online shopper, but being able to check everything out in store is even better. They have everything curated in the most perfect vignettes.
I also love their support of local Etsy artists. The City Creek store is only the second West Elm to feature local Etsians' products in their stores. They are currently featuring some of the best (including some familiar Bijou vendors)! You may recognize Sycamore Street Press, Fletcher & Fox, Diem Design and Say Hello Shop in the photos and in the store.
And it may be a tad early, but their Christmas collection is spot on. Metallics, neons, triangles and (my favorite) the tissue paper ornaments, which might inspire some DIYs this year.
What a gorgeous store! I've been perusing their catalog, but it's just not the same. I'll definitely have to head up to see it. The Etsy pop-up shop is incredible and the first one in the entire United States! Of course it is perfectly appropriate to have the first be in Utah where the handmade movement is unparalleled.
Thank you West Elm for having us, and huge thank you to Bri for covering for me! Everyone be sure to check out her Collected Blog. It's full of awesome design and photography and I've found several new favorite artists because of Bri as well!

Movin on up, SLC! I think the other West Elm that carries local Esty art is right here by me :). I also love that they do Esty open houses around the holidays. so fun! Maybe they'll do it at City Creek, too?
