i knew the baseball themed birthday party was an eventual inevitability, so i figured hey, let's just get it over with! just kidding, it was so much fun to plan and as much as i love to balk, i come from a baseball family, and i married into a baseball family.
we sent out Hayes' Rookie Year baseball card as the invite:
despite reports that we may be looking at a very wintry & windy 50 degree Saturday, we had everyone meet at a local pavilion & baseball diamond for hot dogs and kickball. we made sure everyone's favorite fix-ins were readily available: JDawgs Sauce, banana peppers, onions, sauerkraut, ketchup, mustard and relish.
we had all the necessary baseball game snacks... including but not limited to theeee worst looking cupcakes ever. by the time saturday morning rolled around, i was over being detail oriented, and frosted them in about 3 minutes, and then Russ & I proceeded to drop them at least 4 times on the way:
a photobooth so our guests could take their own official baseball card photos.
true to form we had about 35 options for these two:

and a few other goodies too:
we all did our best to stay warm:
and our youngest sluggers were troopers despite the less than lovely weather:
i was thrilled to see my long lost bestie, home from her mission to canada!
she greeted me with a "so i just put a quarter in a baby pops out?!":

Hayes was absolutely showered with gifts and love and thoroughly enjoyed the lolly his cousin Avery snuck him (what are cousins for!?):
to get really warm we moved to the diamond for some good old fashioned kickball:
and sent our family and friends home with favors to keep their game going:
we are such a lucky little Frame bunch. lucky to have such supportive friends and family around us, and lucky to have had a whole year of Hayes Baby Hayes!
photography by Nicole. who is the most invaluable friend a girl could ever ask for.
Happy Birthday Party Hayes!
soak it up because the next one, your wife can throw.
